In Leicester we offer a range of fully accredited geoscience degrees, with the single-subject Geology degree offering most flexibility in module choice. Or, choose from a more specialist degree in Geology with Palaeontology, Geology with Geophysics, or Applied and Environmental Geology. You can choose between a three-year BSc degree, or four-year MGeol which includes a major research project on a topic of your choice. We also offer a BSc in Physical Geography and Geology, delivered by colleagues from across our School of Geography, Geology and the Environment.
At Leicester, we pride ourselves on our friendly and supportive atmosphere, and the great facilities we offer our students. You’ll have 24/7 access to dedicated study spaces, including for out-of-hours working with specimens and microscopes. We have extensive collections of rocks, minerals and fossils (>250,000!), as well as state-of-the-art lecture theatres and practical laboratories. We offer diverse fieldwork opportunities both in the UK and overseas, and lots of our students get involved in our ongoing cutting-edge research.
