The University of Birmingham offers three degree programs in the Earth Science – Geology, Geology and Physical Geography, and Palaeontology and Geology. We are particularly interested in the application of the Earth Science to understand and mitigate modern changes in the Earth system and threats to society and the biosphere. We have close links with colleagues within physical geography and the environmental and biological sciences, who contribute to all of our degree programs. We have special strengths in palaeontology and ecosystems, climate systems and tectonic and volcanic processes.
