Our degree programmes
Cardiff University offers three exciting Earth science degrees in geology, environmental geoscience and exploration geology. All of our courses are available as a three-year bachelor’s degree (BSc), a four-year undergraduate master’s degree (MSci), with professional placement year or a year abroad.

Suited to students interested in all aspects of natural resources, their exploration, extraction and management.

Environmental Geoscience (BSc)
Explore different processes that happen on our planet, like acid rain and global warming, and find solutions to geological problems in the UK and around the world.
Environmental Geoscience (MSci)
This four-year degree combines components of geology and physical geography, with a focus on learning how to conduct your own research project.
Geology (BSc)
Geologists study the minerals and rocks that form the solid Earth, the processes that occur on and within our planet, and the evolution of life on its surface.

This accredited four-year master’s degree investigates the formation of Earth and its constant evolution with a focus on learning how to conduct research.
